I am so grateful for the lesson even though it was given to me in such a short time. Iyanla picked up on many things about me in such a short time that it still stunned me still today. She told me things about myself that I was aware of but didn't pay much attention too.

It's funny how many people in this world do not know thyself. Knowing thyself is the greatest gift on this earth!

Iyanla told me this year, 2009, would be a "1" meaning something great would happen to me and for me. I had no idea what she was talking about until today. "Yesterday and Today I cried" tears of joy as my life unfolded in front of me. The things that are happening in my life today has made me more grateful and so much more aware of the Lord Jesus Christ. I put all faith and trust in him and only him.

The "1" has come through and I am so proud of what I have accomplished with the help of God, Jesus, the Lord himself. My life could not get any better but it's funny, I know it will as I finish my last 7th year. As Iyanla has said and my Herbalist, Dr. Earl, we are reborn every 7 years and as we are reborn our body changes and we know ourselves better and deeper every 7 years. I am at the end of my 5th rebirth and will start the 6th with happy wide open arms, eyes, soul, and spirit.

Why me?

I have asked this question many times in my head
...over and over again. You know you hear about African American are dying more from diabetes, heart disease, and HIV/AIDS than any other race on the news, the internet, and magazines. You want to know why and how it can be prevented? Well this report, only 25 pages long, gives you the hard facts and recommendations for prevention. Of course, we can attribute heart disease and diabetes to the diets African American maintain as well as genetics but African Americans cannot, however, blame the HIV/AIDS disease transference as a diet imbalance or genetics. The African American community needs to take responsibility for their actions.

Protect yourself at all times and get tested!

Did you know that African Americans account for 49% (almost 50%) of all HIV/AIDS cases in the U.S.? Latin American accounts for 20% and Whites (non-hispanic) accounts for 28%. There is a huge disparity that we as African Americans cannot ignore anymore! African Americans are not susceptible to the HIV/AIDS disease. If you don't know your status, find out today and use protection everytime.

One of the greatest impact on the African Community is homosexual behaviors with men in prison and the non-use of condoms as they are not available in most prisons in this country. African Americans account for 41% of the total prison population (data from 2005 and still rising). This study indicates that U.S. prisons only started testing for HIV/AIDS 10 or 11 years ago. You have men who did not know their status serving their prison sentence for 10 to 30 years not knowning their status and infecting other men as condoms, sex, and drug use are prohihited. Which person do you know is able to go without sex for 6 months? I don't know of any. Is the government being realistic about not issuing condoms in the prisons? Am I missing something here!

These men in prison engage in unprotected sex with other men. Some men were never homosexuals, however, becuase of the environment, they had to adapt to survive. When these men are let out into society, the next rate of infections starts with the African American female community. And I will stop right there. This is called the trickle down effect and has now cause this epidemic in the African American community.

Download the report and other publications at: http://www.nmac.org/index/nmac-pubs
and please pass the link on so we all get educated on this epidemic and curb it before it gets worst. What is going on? Why does the US feel like they have to help every country in need. The US is committing USD$1 billion to rehabilitate Georgia's economy and infrastructure. What about rehabilitating and restructuring our own economy. We are in a recession! The feds might not contest to this but consumers, like myself, middle and working class feel the economy tightening. Between high gas prices fluctuation and food price increases, the credit crunch in both housing and credit cards, we, the US economy and its people need some serious help.

Here is where I think the billion dollars could be spent:
The US consumes 71% of oil each year which is supplied by other countries. We need to supply our own which entails drilling more and finding untapped within the US. Revamp the education system that will ensure people who cannot afford higher education can, no child left behind project, bring back the jobs we outsourced to India (just one of the many cheap ass countries that help save corporations some bucks), ensure that every person has health care for a low fee, eliminate homelessness and decrease the jobless market gap, and last but not frigging least, bring back the troops from Iraq (these young men are fighting for the wrong cause was lied to and still being lied to). Bringing back our troops will save billions. Who is with me?

Thanks all for now. type='text'>My Hawaii Vacation (May 2008)

Well, I went to Honolulu Hawaii in May and is 2 shades darker (not anymore since I am not in the darn sun as much). We stayed in downtown Waikiki which felt like Manhattan. Our hotel was next to the Fendi store and many other high end stores. I wish I had the cash to shop since I love high end stuff (bummer).

In either case, I had a wonderful time on the island. My family and I were on Waikiki beach everyday. However, my sister and I stayed on the beach and got a tan. I think we were the only black people on the beach getting tans. lol Yes, black ladies are allowed to get tans. I love my skin color darker not lighter...no apologies to all the color complex people out there trying to get a lighter complexion unnaturally.

My vacation consisted of doing nothing but tourist stuff. We went to the Dole Plantation and pick pearls from the oysters and made earrings, chains, necklaces, and rings, we went to Pearl Harbor (took tons of pictures of this historic site), Ala Mona, Royal Hawaiian Hotel Luau (I ate too damn much here), Polynesian Cultural Center, some surfers beach (Hale'wa Beach Park or Kalaka State Park) on the North shore and Waikame (spelling) Waterfalls and Botanical Gardens (the gardens was closed because their was a drought) The views on the island were spectacular. I took some wonderful pictures to share with friends.

I plan to definitely make another trip to Hawaii. I want to visit all the hot island spots since I am a party animal. Check out my Facebook account for pictures. I really need to figure out what I am looking for in man and a relationship with a man...a real man. A man who respect themselves and the woman that they are interested in, courts her, connects spiritually and emotionally, and is able to look her in the eyes and tell her how he feels without thinking she will use his true feelings against him.

Where are you and why are you hiding from me? Why are you pretending that you don't care? Everyone needs a mate to connect with...either you must not be ready or you might be looking in the wrong places. It's been more than 8 months after what felt like a 10 year marriage and I have reconnected with myself and is very in tune with my self. Never have I been so in tuned with myself. It's call maturity and giving yourself enough time to heal before you move toward that next relationship.

I wasn't looking and here he came, out of no where, unexpected, but right on time. God knows when you need something and does it when He feels its the right time. I am grateful!

But before all that when down, MAANNNN! Men come on all these networking sites and expect women to give them their number and address after one damn conversation, an immature one at that. It won't happen. If you're writing something to a young lady make sure you've given it some thought and did not use any short-hand writing or any Ebonics. You are not talking to your brother or your boy. Show some respect. You will get what you ask for! Trust me?

Again, don't judge the book by the cover. Every woman has their own unique qualities. You, as a man need to figure out what you find most intriguing about that person. It takes two to connect and have a friendship that will hopefully lead to respectful relationship.
